Call for artists

CALL FOR ARTIST

The International Meeting of Art and Human Rights of Western Sahara, ARTifariti 2021 in its XV edition, calls on all artists around the world to participate with an unpublished artwork: text, poetry, painting, drawing, photography, video or installation that testifies to the current situation in Western Sahara with a social and political perspective or about the violation of human rights suffered by Sultana Khaya as a tribute to the struggle and resistance of the sahrawi people.

Contest Entry

The art reception must be sent to artistas@artifariti.org from Sunday November 28th until December 5th 2021. The video will be screened online on Saturday, December 11th, 2021 on the festival’s website and social networks.

All artists that wish to participate must send an application email to artistas@artifariti.org with the description of the work in a page, full name of the artists, collective, company or association, nationality, website (if any), email and whatsapp contact number, as well as technique of the work extension and/or duration of the video.

The application deadline is from the publication of this call until November 21th, 2021; remember that from the date of registration you have until December 5th, 2021 to send the work.

Keep in mind that:

  • Works that do not have the previous registration will not be accepted.
  • All works will be curated by the artists team appointed to lead this edition.

The edition is open to all artists of any nationality who make or have a work of the situation currently being experienced in the occupied area of Western Sahara and in the Saharan refugee camps in any technique:

  • Text/Poetry: Up to two pages.
  • Painting/Drawing: Any technique.
  • Photography: Any technique.
  • Video: up to five minutes.
  • Installation: Send photographs and video as support. No more than 10 minutes.

All digital works have to be sent in high quality (HD), ready for exhibition and online streaming. The artists must always take care about lighting, photography and quality in general. Any work that does not meet digital quality standards may not be selected.

The selected works will be streamed online on December 11, 2021 on the festival official website and social networks.
